Creators Club Online Support

Welcome to the support page for the XNA.COM Creators Club Community Site!

Here are some common support issues that we are seeing recently.  If you don’t see your problem in the list below, please check our F.A.Q. forum, as the problem may be addressed there.  If you need further assistance, please click on the “Feedback” link and explain what your problem is.  We will address it as carefully as possible.

Common Support Issues:

Problem: After downloading and installing some of the XNA Game Studio 2.0 Starter Kits, you cannot find it in the New Project dialog in Visual Studio.

Solution:On the left-hand side of the New Project dialog, there is a "Project Types" dialog, and the "XNA Game Studio 2.0" entry is probably selected. If you click on the "Visual C#" entry, you will see a different list of templates, which should include some of the XNA Game Studio 2.0 starter kits you have downloaded. You may have to scroll down in the dialog to see it. If this does not work, please click on the “Feedback” link and tell us about your problem, including your Visual Studio configuration.

Problem: You are a current subscriber of the XNA Creators Club, but you get an “Access Denied” when you try to download premium content

Solution: Please attempt these three steps in order of escalation

  1. The first approach is to close all open web browsers, then come back and sign into the site again.  Generally, this will solve the problem.
  2. If that doesn't work, please clear your cookies and cache in the browser and try again.
  3. If this fails, please click on the “Feedback” link and explain what your problem is.

Problem: You recently changed your Windows LIVE ID on your Xbox 360, and now when you visit http://creators.xna.com, you are prompted to create a new account.  If you try to submit this page with your existing Gamertag, you will get an error stating that the user already exists in the database.

Solution: This requires four separate steps to resolve:

1)      Click on the “Feedback” link and include your gamertag, new Windows LIVE ID, and your old Windows LIVE ID.

2)      The XNA Creators Club team will notify you via email that the old account has been temporarily frozen

3)      Sign back in to the Creator’s Club and create the new account, using your correct gamertag with your new Windows LIVE ID

4)      Click on the “Feedback” link and let the XNA Creators Club team know that your account data is ready to be moved from the old account to the new one.

NOTE: It is possible that your forum statistics will be reset to zero once this takes place.  We apologize in advance for this inconvenience, should it occur.
