Windows Live™ ID

This account is the bedrock of all XNA and Xbox-related accounts, as well as a host of other Microsoft Web sites. A user that is signed in with their Windows Live ID identifies themselves enough to gain certain user privileges on many Microsoft sites.

Creator Profile Account

This account requires a Windows Live ID and is the basis for your identity at http://creators.xna.com . This allows you to customize your profile, choose your creator name, and post messages to other creators in our lively forums. If you are signed into your Windows Live ID, you can create your profile here.

Gamer Tag/Gamer card/Gamer Profile

Based in part on your Windows Live ID, this account is part of your Xbox Live Gamer profile (found here at xbox.com.) Some creators who have a real “gamer” identity want to make sure they are recognized by including their gamer information (also called a gamer “card”) in their Creator Profile Account. The Creators Club Web site used to require a gamer tag to post in the forums, but in our new beta site, all you need is a Windows Live ID.

Creators Club Premium Membership

This is the crown jewel of your XNA game developer identity. It allows you to download premium content – information and assets to make games – as well as submit your community games for distribution on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Premium members are also empowered to see the latest community games before they go to Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and review them to ensure they are worthy. At $49 for 4 months, and $99 per year, premium membership gets you everything you need to get your game in front of Xbox LIVE users.
