Beginning on December 15, independent, student, and hobbyist developers in Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand will have the opportunity to distribute their titles on the new Xbox LIVE Community Games Channel and share in the profits from their creations.

This offers developers, like team Gambit of Singapore, creators of the 2008 Dream-Build-Play first place winner “CarneyVale: Showtime”, the unique ability to develop games using Microsoft’s free XNA development toolset, and to share them on a console for the first time ever! With a Premium XNA Creators Club Membership, game makers can sell their creations through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

For Xbox LIVE members, this means access to more diverse and innovative titles that are only available on Xbox 360. “If our annual Dream-Build-Play competition taught us one thing, it is that there is such a wealth of creativity and imagination in this region, and all over the world, that should be shared with millions,” XNA General Manager Boyd Multerer said. “Now even more developers can participate in what we expect to be a worldwide movement to truly democratize game development.”

Since launching on November 15 the Community Games catalog already boasts more than 50 Community-created games on Xbox LIVE. The addition of these regions will increase this number!

Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia join the growing list of countries including: the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands where Xbox LIVE Community Games can be published.
