The XNA Team announces a new pair of utilities for XNA Game Studio: the SpriteBatch and BasicEffect shaders.
The XNA Framework provides a SpriteBatch class for 2D rendering, and a BasicEffect class that provides simple 3D transformation and lighting. Until now, the inner workings of these shaders were not available. We are proud to release these shaders along with supporting documentation, for your use in extending the default drawing capabilities in the XNA Framework, and for developing your own custom 2D and 3D shaders with XNA Game Studio.
Download these new shaders from the Utilities section on the XNA Creators Club Online Website, or chat about them on the Forums.
