Functionality updates

We have been working  to implement some feedback into the ‘Personal and Tax Information’ section under ‘My Business’. Based on your feedback we’ve added the following:

  • Personally Identifiable Information (PII) submission status on initial page
    • Other than via email there was limited status on the state of your PII submission and whether you’re ready to be paid. On the initial page we will tell you what your status is as well as reasons why the information may be invalid.
  • Email status for non issues Tax Identification Numbers (TIN)
    • The IRS TIN database can take up to 8 weeks to populate with your TIN. If so we will let you know that the TIN can’t be validated just yet
  • Supporting Expired Memberships
    • If your membership expired it was impossible to modify your PII. The site now supports editing your PII if you have previously filled in your PII with an active Premium membership
  • Converted county field into free form text field
    • The state/county/region field is now a free form text field. If you previously entered a value that will be carried over to the free form text field.

This functionality will go live Thursday 9th July at 5PM PST

Changes for non-US creators

As part of our ongoing compliance with the US Internal Revenue Service we have determined that we will now require physical W-8 forms to be submitted for all non-US creators for the July-September 2009 quarter and onwards in order to process payments.

This will have the following impact:

  • If you have previously sent a physical copy of your W-8 form via your postal service and received confirmation that your W-8 was processed then you should be good to get paid!
  • If you have not previously sent a physical W-8 at all or have previously only faxed over a copy you will need to send a physical copy of the W-8. If a physical W-8 is not received then the account will remain ineligible for payment.

Faxed copies of W-8s will be accepted up to the last PII change date (July 15th 2009) for the April-June 2009 payment period and for that period only. Faxed W-8s received after that date will not be eligible. Notification of a processed W-8 will arrive in email and will be displayed on the front page of the ‘Personal and Tax Information’ page.

The address to send the physical W-8 form is located in the Creators Club Online FAQ: http://creators.xna.com/en-US/faq#anchor_1_42g

Status of your eligibility for payment will be available on the Personal and Tax Information link on the My Business page here at Creators Club Online.
