Indie Games May Not Include Unsupported Languages
News
Recent confusion over mixed and/or multiple languages has called attention for the need for more detailed clarification. Xbox LIVE Indie Games are approved in the following languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and German.
If your game includes – in any form – characters, symbols, or words from any of these languages it must be declared in Peer Review (example: Your game is in English but includes some Japanese characters; this game has to be submitted for Peer Review by both English and Japanese creators).
If your game includes – in any form – characters, symbols, or words from unsupported languages it WILL be FAILED. We are currently working to notify Creators of games that are in violation of this rule. The games in violation will be removed from the system, and the Creators will be paid in full for any revenue they have earned. They will also be given the option of changing their games and resubmitting them to Xbox LIVE Indie Games.
The enforcement of these rules is to protect this entire system. As ever, if you have questions, our forums are a great place to find the answer or you can write to us
