About Adam Miles

I started programming when I started college (2003) in VB6 until I left college (2005) and went to Warwick University to study Computer Science. There I used Java, SML, Prolog, C (among others) as part of the course, but spent most of my free coding-time in C# using Managed DirectX to learn how to make games. My 3rd year project (Transport Tycoon 3D) began life as nothing more than a cornflower blue device clear (Summer '06) and by the time the project time was up it was around 15,000 lines of rather interesting C# (Feb '07). XNA came around a bit too late to use for my 3rd Year Project but since the 1.0 beta (Aug '06) I've been using it to do anything and everything from games to raytracers. Being a true hobbyist I never actually finish anything I start so don't have much more than a few videos, screenshots and the odd demo to show for it. Based on this experience I now have a job at Kuju Studios in Brighton, England as a game programmer using C++ (boo). I absolutely have MDX and XNA to thank for my job as without the easier route into game programming I probably never would have touched game development in native code. Hopefully now I can still find some spare time after work and at weekends to use XNA and help out people on IRC/Forums where needed without completely burning out from game development overload!
